Chen Lu joined Lassus Wherley in October of 1995 on a part time basis in the Tax Department. She became a full time employee in the summer of 1998. Chen is an Enrolled Agent in the Tax Department and performs various tasks related to tax preparation. Her responsibilities also include the IRA minimum required distribution process, cost basis calculation and daily reconciliation of accounts held at one of Lassus Wherley's independent custodians.
Chen earned a Certificate of Enrollment as an Enrolled Agent in 1997. An Enrolled Agent is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections and appeals.
Chen has a Ph. D and an M.S. in Physics from the University of New Hampshire. She earned an A.B.S. in Accounting from McIntosh College in New Hampshire and a B.S. in Physics from Peking University in Beijing, China.
Chen is a National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) Associate.
