Diahann Lassus Leads NAPFA 2008-09

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL (August 19, 2008) – The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the leading organization of Fee-Only, comprehensive financial planning professionals welcomes its new leader for the 2008-09 National Board. Diahann W. Lassus, CFP®, CPA/PFS of Lassus Wherley in New Providence, NJ, has taken the reins as of September 1, 2008.

The next twelve months will be a landmark year for NAPFA and its more than 2,000 members around the country. The organization is kicking-off the Your Money Bus Tour in conjunction with the NAPFA Consumer Education Foundation, TD AMERITRADE Institutional and Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine. Other projects in the works for the next year include financial education programming with Sunrise Senior Living, the New York Times and the television series BoomerLife. The Board is instrumental in steering the organization. NAPFA is known for its staunch pro-consumer advocacy, educational opportunities for members, and collaboration among many of the top Fee-Only comprehensive financial advisors in the country.

Lassus has been a fixture in the Fee-Only financial planning industry for more than two decades. She co-founded Lassus Wherley, a wealth management firm with offices in New Providence, New Jersey and Bonita Springs, Florida in 1985. Her many accomplishments include appointments to the Retirement Savings Summit in Washington, D.C., the New Sources of Capital Board in New Jersey and the New Jersey Assembly Business Task Force. She has also served on the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Board of Governors from 1994-97 and was a delegate to the White House Conference on Small Business, for which she chaired the New Jersey Capital Formation Committee.
