LOCAL FIRM PARTICIPATES IN FIRST EVER ADVISOR-OWNED TRUST COMPANY
ADVISOR-OWNED NATIONAL ADVISORS TRUST PROVIDES CUSTODIAL, TRUST SERVICES ONLY TO CLIENTS OF 82 FINANCIAL ADVISORY FIRMS
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ—Nov 12, 2001—Lassus Wherley & Associates, P.C., a wealth management firm headquartered in New Providence, has announced its participation in a first ever advisor-owned trust company. National Advisors Trust Co., FSB, based in Overland Park, Kansas, organized by 82 financial planning and investment advisory firms nationwide, including Lassus Wherley & Associates, has received its federal operating charter from the Office of Thrift Supervision and is accepting accounts. National Advisors Trust, a subsidiary of National Advisors Holdings, Inc., will provide the advisory firms’ clients with administrative and custodial services for trust and brokerage accounts on an exclusive basis.
“We’re pleased to provide our clients with this type of leading-edge service support to meet their custodial and trust service needs” said Diahann W. Lassus, President of Lassus Wherley & Associates, P.C.
“Financial advisory firms were concerned their clients were not properly served by brokerage firms and banks that historically provide custodial and trust services so they put up $6.8 million to create their own trust company,” says David L. Roberts, National Advisors Trust’s president and CEO. “Our mandate from our shareholders is to provide their clients with state-of-the-art technology and a Midwest work ethic of professional, responsive customer service and attention to detail,” said Roberts who had previously spent 24 years with a major Kansas City based regional bank, most recently as executive vice president of its Personal Trust Division.
